Big Mac (Wrap)
I couldn’t believe how good these tasted when I made them. They are so good and exactly the same as a big mac. – but healthier! I now always have a jar of this sauce pre-made in the fridge.
I’ve slightly adapted the original recipe from @deanedwardschef over on Instagram in that I make them on a tortilla or flatbread rather than a brioche bun. My son, loves these and has titled them the Big Mac Wrap!
I use a jar with a lid so i can make a batch of the sauce and leave in the fridge.
Ingredients
SAUCE:
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 heaped tbsp gherkins, very finely chopped
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp garlic granules
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp onion, very finely chopped
- 1 tbsp pickle juice from the gherkin jar
- 500g beef mince, seasoned with salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp onion, very finely chopped
- Iceberg lettuce, finely shredded
- 4 slices processed cheese
- Flatbreads or small flour tortillas
Instructions
- Make the Big Mac sauce by combining all of the ingredients in a bowl along with a pinch of salt. Leave the stand for 10 minutes.
- Divide the minced beef into four equal sized portions, then roll into balls. Pop into a hot pan then smash down until flat. Cook for a couple of minutes then flip and continue to cook the other side for further two minutes. (I use a small round pan and add enough mince so it covers the entire base of the pan – this way I cut in half and have a perfectly formed burger to fit inside a folded tortilla)
- Add the burger and cheese to the tortilla and toast lightly in the pan to melt the cheese and crisp the tortilla slightly.
- Build the burger by spreading some of the big Mac sauce onto the burger, add chopped onion and lettuce.
- Enjoy.
